Well, just a day after hearing about a car seat recall, a manufacturer here in Iowa has announced a big recall – Burlington Bassinets made before June of last year are all being recalled.
The problem? If it isn’t set up just right, the legs of the bassinet can collapse and make the whole thing fall over.
If you have one of these at home, you don’t need to return the bassinet. Instead, they just want you to watch a video online that gives better instructions of how to set up the bassinet safely.
Click here to find out if your bassinet is included in the recall!
If you have little ones at home, or know someone who does… heads up! There was a huge car seat recall announced this week. Here’s the scoop:
Dorel Juvenile Group (DJG), in cooperation with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), has decided that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists in certain Cosco, Maxi-Cosi, and Safety 1st child restraint systems.
Dorel Juvenile Group (DJG) is issuing a safety recall for certain Cosco, Maxi-Cosi, and Safety 1st brand child restraints manufactured from May 1, 2008 through April 30, 2009. The models affected are manufactured from May 1, 2008 through April 30, 2009 and include Convertible child restraints Alpha Omega, Alpha Omega Elite, Enspira, Priori, Prospect, and Vantage; Infant child restraints Mico and OnBoard.
Project Fresh Start is seeking donated prom dresses to distribute to students in March.
The Ankeny-based program distributes school supplies and backpacks, prom dresses, and holiday food and gifts to families of need in the greater Ankeny area.
Project Fresh Start has assisted students from the Ankeny school district, Ankeny Christian Academy, Ballard, Bondurant-Farrar, North Polk, Saydel, Southeast Polk, and Woodward-Granger for the past three years by providing free prom dresses to students who express a need. All dresses have been donated.
Students need not complete a financial analysis form. Students merely appear at the site of distribution of the dresses, find a garment that fits, and take the dress with them at no charge.
To donate dresses or support this program, contact Dave Kissinger at djkissinger@dmacc.edu or at 491-2049.
