They’re here! :)

So the news this afternoon says that this is the most snow we’ve seen in Des Moines since 1886 – yikes!

Unfortunately, it also means a record number of snow days for students. Des Moines public schools are already scheduled to be in session until June 16th. So, the administrators would like to know how YOU think they should make up the extra days. Should it be Saturday classes? Just keep adding it to June?

Here’s your chance to speak out. They’ve posted a survey to let you share your opinion. Des Moines schools will use the results to make a plan regarding makeup days.

Click here to take the survey for Des Moines Public School!

Vets Auditorium is packed to capacity as of 6:12pm – thanks for coming out to Winter Jam, if you aren’t already here, you will not likely get a seat.

WinterJam is this Sunday night at Vets Auditorium – woohoo!

Be sure you stop by the Life 107.1 table just inside the main entrance. Sign up for the free drawing – we are giving away an autographed guitar, signed by all the bands in WinterJam!

To make sure your trip into the venue is a smooth one, here are a few links to help you out:

Dave St. John talked this morning with Amy Dix, the ‘frugalista’ behind HouseWifeHacks.com

Amy Dix of HouseWifeHacks.com and Dave St. John

If you missed the stories on Channel 13 and Channel 8 about Jock and Lisa from Ankeny-  what a week they’ve had.  They are in the process of adopting two children from Haiti.   Would you pray for God to move in a mighty way so they can bring their sweet son and daughter home?

Here’s their website:

Do you know of other Central Iowans who are adopting from Haiti?  Let us know how we can pray.  Visit the Prayer Wall on the Life 107.1 website at
